Help Families with Tax Preparation

Become trained in tax preparation and learn a life-long skill! United Way of Rockland County is looking for volunteers of all professional backgrounds and experience levels to help with its Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Program this tax season.

Volunteers will help low- and moderate-income individuals and families eligible for the federal Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) file their taxes and maximize their returns.

Volunteers are required to complete a training, pass an IRS tax preparer certification, and must commit to volunteer at least 4 days. All training and necessary materials are provided.

Beginning in February, the program will run weekly on Tuesdays in Spring Valley from 12-6 p.m. and on Thursdays in Haverstraw from 1-6 p.m.
