2025 Rosh Hashanah Friendly Visit and Package Delivery

DOROT’s Rosh Hashanah Package Delivery brings hundreds of older adults and volunteers together to share warmth and companionship. Volunteers are needed for a 30-45 minute social visit with an older neighbor while delivering a thoughtful, seasonal care package provided by DOROT. This is a great opportunity for individuals, families with children over 10, and adult pairs.

Volunteer requirements:

• ​Must be 18+; volunteers ages 10+ are allowed if an adult registers the youth volunteer as part of the adult's team
• Must provide a valid, U.S. government-issued photo ID
• Must be able to pick up and deliver packages at the specified date and time
• New volunteers must be able to attend the online orientation

This activity involves volunteers to complete the following steps:

1. Before September 8: "Express Interest" below to record this opportunity in your Volunteer New York! profile and alert the volunteer coordinator. If volunteering alongside one or more other people OR with a volunteer aged 10-17, click "Express Interest With a Family, Group or Team." Registration for this opportunity closes on September 8 at 11:59 p.m.
2. Click here to complete your registration with DOROT Westchester. Volunteers who do not complete this step will not be registered!
3. On September 9 at 5:30 p.m.: new volunteers will attend the Zoom orientation (Zoom link sent after required steps above are complete).
4. On September 14 from 10:30 a.m.-12 p.m.: pick up a care package from DOROT and deliver your package to your assigned neighbor's home. Stick around for an in-person visit (30-45 minutes).
