Waitlist Coordinator

IFCA Housing Network is seeking a reliable Waitlist Review Volunteer to help its team manage and maintain the organization's growing client waitlist. This volunteer will assist with reviewing applications, updating records, and ensuring compliance as required under the affordable housing and housing choice voucher programs. This work will directly impact individuals and families within the community.

Volunteer responsibilities:

  • Review client entries on the waitlist and verify application details
  • Monitor for accuracy; and full compliance
  • Contact clients (via email or phone) to confirm continued interest or update information
  • Track and document communication in IFCA's client database
  • Flag duplicate or inactive records for staff follow-up
  • Work closely with program staff to prioritize high-need or time-sensitive cases
  • Uphold strict confidentiality and respect for client information
  • Communicate with staff on file review to ensure prompt approvals, and communicate (via telephone) with potential clients regarding occupancy standards, income requirements, and assets

Skills and qualifications:

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Proficient in basic computer tools (including Excel, Word, and/or Google Sheets)
  • Able to work independently and follow process guidelines

Time commitment:

  • 8 hours per week, flexible

This is a meaningful volunteer experience with a direct community impact, flexible schedule, and training and support provided. Volunteer verification and letters of reference available upon request. Express interest below!
