Farmers Market Volunteers
Greenburgh Farmers Market is seeking volunteers to help with its market on alternating Saturdays.
Volunteer activities include:
- Setting up and breaking down tents
- Displaying produce on tables
- Ensuring the street is closed off for visitors
- Preparing tokens for distribution
- Welcoming and assisting vendors
- Overseeing tents and distributing items
Volunteers should:
- Be able to lift 10-50 pounds
- Be able to lift, bend, and stand for long periods
- Wear clothes that are weather-appropriate, comfortable, and can get dirty; the Farmers Market is held rain or shine
- Bring their own lunch and water
Groups and teens 15+ (with an adult) are welcome! Chairs and free parking are provided; volunteers may use Porta-Potties at the park up the street or the bathrooms at the community center two blocks away. Sign up for one or more shifts below!
A program of Dare To Be Different Westchester, the Greenburgh Farmers Market addresses local food insecurity and helps bridge the lack of access to community resources in Greenburgh.
Age Minimum (with Adult): 14+, Minimum Age:18+, Court Ordered Volunteer - Allowed
