Grant Writers

Sunflower of Westchester is an emerging nonprofit organization—developed by former foster parents and foster youth—that is looking to create positive opportunities for kids and youth currently in and transitioning out of the foster care system. It is seeking volunteer grant writers with a passion for social impact to help it secure funding.

Grant writers play a vital role in helping grow programs and reach more individuals in need. They will collaborate with the Sunflower of Westchester team to research, write, and submit compelling grant proposals to foundations, corporations, and government agencies.

Grant Writer responsibilities:

  • Research potential grant opportunities aligned with the organization's mission
  • Write and edit grant proposals, letters of inquiry, and supporting documents
  • Track deadlines and maintain a calendar of grant submissions
  • Assist with reporting requirements for awarded grants

This is a remote role and the schedule is flexible; express interest below!

Sunflower of Westchester is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to creating positive impacts in the lives of foster children and foster youth.
