Guest Speakers on Weather and Climate
Environmental Leaders of Color (ELOC) is seeking volunteer guest speakers for its Student Summer Energy and Environmental Program for Teens (SSEEPT), a six-week STEM leadership program featuring over 25 hours of hands-on science learning. Teens explore environmental science and the social impacts of climate change, culminating in presentations to peers, community members, and local leaders. The program runs on weekdays from June 30 to August 7.
Guest speakers must be professionals or passionate advocates with knowledge in weather and climate to engage youth through interactive presentations and real-world insights.
Qualifications:
- Ability to make complex topics accessible for teens
- Real-world examples tied to weather, climate, or environmental science
- Interactive, engaging approach
- Passion to inspire curiosity and action
- Expertise in any or all of these areas:
- Meteorology
- Climate science
- Environmental science
- Renewable energy
- Sustainability
