2023 Yonkers Dominican Festival Volunteers

Que Paso Latinx is a Yonkers-based nonprofit that provides mental health education and support to BIPOC communities, and it is seeking volunteers to help provide support at the Yonkers Dominican Festival.

The Yonkers Dominican Festival will be the first-ever celebration of Dominican culture of its kind in the city of Yonkers. Que Paso Latinx will have a table where it will shed light on mental health through engaging and fun activities. The goal is to encourage overall physical and mental wellness through steps that are attainable on a daily basis. This includes providing the community with resources that can help alleviate gaps tied to social drivers of health. The event includes food, music, and fun for all ages!

Volunteers are needed to staff the community engagement table:

• Help community members sign up for the newsletter and social media profiles by collecting email addresses and scanning the QR code
• Engage with community members and assist them with the "steps for mental health activity"
• Hand out printed materials with mental health resources

Skills needed:

• Spanish speaking a MUST
• Ability to communicate effectively
• Ability to work with others
• Ability to lift up to 15 pounds
• Must be comfortable engaging and speaking with children, teens, adults, and seniors
