2023 Summer Greenternship - Yonkers

Westchester Parks Foundation is offering a hands-on, educational internship for high school and college-aged youth. Summer Greenternship participants will learn about the effects of the aquatic invasive species—the water chestnut—and work in canoes and on land to remove it from a lake at the park. Greenterns will engage with and lead community volunteers on-site, meet other students interested in caring for our environment, and help promote a healthy ecosystem in the lake. This program aims to provide clean water for the return of native species, the use of the lake for recreation, and overall enhancement to the quality of life for Westchester community members. All training will be provided; no experience necessary.

This program runs from July 12-15 and July 19-22 from 9:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m.
