2023 Greenhouse Volunteers

Volunteers are needed to help with the Grow Bag Project at the Mount Vernon High School Greenhouse. Volunteers will fill Grow Bags with compost and transplant the seedling veggies and fruiting plants, like tomatoes and okra, into the bags. These container gardens will be handed out later in May. Volunteers must be able to lift between 10-15 pounds and bend consistently throughout the day, wear close-toed shoes, and be comfortable working in a garden environment.

The Grow Bag Garden Initiative is a partnership between Zeta Nu Omega Chapter of AKA Sorority Inc., the Mount Vernon City School District, Earth Nurture Farms, the Westchester Land Trust, Federated Conservationists of Westchester, and the Black Farmer Fund.
