Opportunity Details

Help Lincoln Park Community Garden on a Compost Build Project (New Rochelle)

Volunteers will clear space for a 3-bin compost center to collect material to turn into compost as well as build a 3-bin wood center with tops. The work entails clearing and cleaning the area where the compost center will be located. Carpentry experience helps! Volunteers must be at least 18 years old to participate in this event. Parking: Parking is limited, look for spaces on Prince Street, Remington Place and Lincoln Avenue. Look out for the signage to help. Volunteers should wear clothing that you're comfortable working outside in and possibly exposing to dirt, grass, or other stainable agents. We ask that all volunteers who are 18 and older be vaccinated unless they have a compromised immune system. We are monitoring covid levels in the counties and will follow CDC guidelines for any masking requirements we might put in place. This project is a part of 9/11: Serve + Remember.
