Opportunity Details

Lend a Hand to a WJCS Community Residence Beautification Project (Sleepy Hollow)

Volunteers will use their green thumbs to do some gardening, trimming, and yard clean up at a Group Home for individuals with Intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). This will be an integrated volunteer opportunity where community and IDD residence members will work alongside each other. Volunteers must be at least 18 years old, or 12 - 17 years old with an adult and signed Youth Waiver to participate in this event. Parking: use outside of the home street parking in the residential neighborhood. Please dress in comfortable clothing possibly exposing to paint, dirt, grass, or other stainable agents as well as closed-toed shoes. If volunteers have spare hand shovels or gardening tools please bring them as we will be sharing. We ask that all volunteers who are 12 and older be vaccinated unless they have a compromised immune system. We are monitoring covid levels in the counties and will follow CDC guidelines for any masking requirements we might put in place. This project is a part of 9/11: Serve + Remember.
