Take Action at Tibbetts Brook Park (Yonkers)

Volunteers will join Westchester Parks Foundation in cutting invasive plant species and digging out their roots. This project will prepare the area for an upcoming planting project to improve the biodiversity of Tibbetts Brook. Volunteers must be at least 16 years old, or 12 - 15 years old with an adult and signed Youth Waiver to participate in this event, Volunteers should wear clothes that can get dirty and closed toe shoes. Please bring your own reusable water bottle. Parking: Volunteers will park at the main parking lot right after the entry gate (lot 1) and walk down the walkway to the main bathhouse/pool building and meet WPF staff on the steps. Look out for the signage to help. We ask that all volunteers who are 12 and older be vaccinated unless they have a compromised immune system. We are monitoring covid levels in the counties and will follow CDC guidelines for any masking requirements we might put in place. This project is a part of 9/11: Serve + Remember.
