Harvesting and Fall Planting for Food Justice Program (West Harrison)

Volunteers will be harvesting and planting some Fall items in Our New Way Garden which will be donated to help increase fresh local food access to communities that struggle to access such foods. . Volunteers must be at least 16 years old, or 2 - 15 years old with an adult and signed Youth Waiver to participate in this event. Volunteers should wear clothes that are ok to get dirty and appropriate shoes for working in the soil. Parking: Park in lot to the right as you enter the park, garden is to the left in the fenced area that was the old pool. Look out for the signage to help. We ask that all volunteers who are 5 and older be vaccinated unless they have a compromised immune system. We are monitoring covid levels in the counties and will follow CDC guidelines for any masking requirements we might put in place. This project is a part of 9/11: Serve + Remember.
