Support Group Facilitators

The Alzheimer’s Association Hudson Valley Chapter is seeking Support Group Facilitators for Putnam, Rockland, and Westchester counties. Volunteers ideally live within these counties since the support groups will take place in-person. (Currently, programs take place both in the community and virtually.)

Support Group Facilitators create a safe, open environment where people share their feelings, thoughts, and experiences in a combined effort to better cope with and manage the shared problems of dementia. The goal of Alzheimer's Association support groups is to provide emotional, social, and/or educational support to group members. As facilitators, individuals may be responsible for working with general caregiver, adult children, spouse, gender-specific, or language-specific groups. Alzheimer's Association provides comprehensive training and support to help facilitators confidently run their groups.
