2021 Adopt a Family for the Holidays
The holidays can be an extremely difficult time of year for families and children who have been struggling. Family Services of Westchester's annual Adopt a Family gift drive makes the holidays brighter for Westchester families who are unable to buy essentials and gifts this holiday season.
Family Services of Westchester's mental health clinicians, social workers, teachers, and staff nominate Westchester County families in need and submit their applications for a holiday "adoption." Volunteers are then matched with an anonymous "adoptee" family and provided with the family's story and holiday wish list. Volunteers purchase the items on the wish list, and the gifts are then personally delivered by program staff. Family Services of Westchester's staff have witnessed families break into tears of joy and disbelief when they have been chosen. It is an amazing experience to witness and be a part of.
This is a great project for families, school classes, employee teams, religious groups, and more. Help make a local family's holiday dreams come true!
