"Love Your Block" Volunteers

The City of White Plains has been selected by Johns Hopkins University in 2021 to receive one of eight grants for its "Love Your Block" program. This grant aims to support resident-led efforts to fight blight in the city by partnering with community groups and resident volunteers to repair, remediate, or otherwise address blight in their neighborhoods.

Volunteers will work alongside city staff and service agencies and be part of a nationwide network of Cities of Services. Volunteers who are enthusiastic, organized, and have a passion for community interaction are encouraged to express interest below!

This opportunity is made possible through the AmeriCorps VISTA program. Volunteers who receive VISTA membership receive a stipend, preferential status when applying for federal employment, and education benefits. This is a perfect opportunity for a community-minded individual exploring career options in the public sector or community development.
