Volunteers to Read Books to Kids

The MLK Freedom Library—a project of the Westchester Martin Luther King, Jr. Institute for Nonviolence (MLKI)—is currently expanding its community outreach and developing programs for the Westchester community. MLKI is looking for motivated and enthusiastic volunteers to read books (virtually) to elementary and middle school children after school. MLKI is looking to build literacy and engage with students on the themes of the institute, which include:

  • Racial, gender and economic equity
  • Youth activism through nonviolent means
  • Mental health/social emotional learning

Volunteer schedules are flexible and the Freedom Library's book collection is available. Express interest below!
