37th Annual Rockland Read-In

Spring Valley High School is looking for volunteers with a love of books to read to students in virtual classes during the 37th Annual Rockland Read-In on Friday, February 12! Volunteers can speak with students about themselves—their career, interests, and passions—as well as their personal experience with reading. They can then read an article or an excerpt from a book that they have personally selected. A teacher will supervise the class during the reading. Volunteers who are fluent in Spanish and other languages are especially encouraged to sign up!

Students benefit greatly from having members of the community set such a wonderful example for them. This is a perfect opportunity for college graduates and seniors to share their passion for reading with today's youth.

Volunteers are needed to read during the following class periods:

  • Period 1: 7:26 a.m.-8:09 a.m.
  • Period 2: 8:12 a.m.-8:53 a.m.
  • Period 3: 8:56 a.m.-9:37 a.m.
  • Period 4: 9:40 a.m.-10:21 a.m.
  • Period 5: 10:47 a.m.-11:28 a.m.
  • Period 6: 11:31 a.m.-12:12 p.m.
