Founded by volunteers in 1949. Volunteer New York! turns 67. THANK YOU for making this possible!
On the evening of February 15, 2017 Volunteer New York! turned 67 years old -- and over 50 business leaders & associates from companies that support Volunteer New York! throughout the year gathered for a celebratory networking reception. The event was hosted by TD Bank in Rye, NY. “Our community thrives because we have so many companies, both large and small, who want strong volunteer employee programs built into their corporate culture and whose leaders wear the Volunteer Hat every day,” said Volunteer New York! Executive Director, Alisa H. Kesten. “Volunteer New York! is celebrating its 67th birthday tonight by throwing a party to encourage our business supporters to get to know each other better, network, and recognize the value of working together and doing business with those who support volunteerism in our community.”
Last year Volunteer New York! created 2,100 volunteer opportunities for employees of local businesses as part of planned days of service. And local corporate employee volunteers served over 5,982 hours of service collectively. More than 50 companies participated in the organization’s #GivingTuesday campaign, sponsored by The Journal News and lohud. And many more significantly support Volunteer New York!'s Volunteer Spirit Awards (the region’s largest recognition event for volunteerism, volunteernewyork.org/awards) or other specific program initiatives of Volunteer New York!.
