  • Ability to lift or carry items that may weigh up to 25 pounds
  • A positive attitude
  • Reliability and punctuality
  • Willingness to serve the community
  • Ability to work respectfully with diverse populations

Accessibility:

Volunteers of varying abilities are welcome. Most volunteer activities take place indoors and require movement throughout the pantry area. Many tasks, such as sorting food, packing bags, organizing donations, greeting guests, and administrative support, can be adapted to meet individual needs. St. John Deliverance Tabernacle strives to provide a supportive and inclusive volunteer environment and will make reasonable accommodations whenever possible.

Community service:

Volunteers may complete a brief registration process and coordinate with the pantry supervisor before beginning service. Formal background checks are generally not required unless the volunteer role involves additional responsibilities determined by church leadership.
Court-ordered and community service volunteers are welcomed on a case-by-case basis. Volunteers must comply with all ministry guidelines and complete assigned duties satisfactorily. Documentation of completed service hours and signed verification letters can be provided upon request.
