Home Litter Care Volunteers
BluePath Service Dogs is seeking Home Litter Care Volunteers who live within 45 minutes of its Wappingers Falls facility to welcome a breeder mom (brood) and her pups into their homes for approximately five weeks. Home Litter Care Volunteers provide early socialization and care for its youngest future service dogs, while also offering love and support to their mom.
The time commitment varies dependent on the size of the litter but includes intensive cleaning, regular feeding, walking the brood, and daily grooming. All equipment and supplies are provided, with the exception of newspaper.
Volunteer requirements:
- Must live within 45 minutes of Wappingers Falls and have the ability to travel to BluePath Service Dogs' headquarters to pick up and drop off puppies and equipment
- Must follow all cleaning, feeding, and socialization guidelines provided
- Must not leave pups alone for longer than two hours
