Swim Lesson Assistants
New Rochelle YMCA is looking for volunteers to help with its swim lesson program, which provides lessons for swimmers of all ages and abilities—from students who have never been in the water to competitive levels of swimming. It also provides specialty swimming programs such as lifeguard prep and the Safety Around Water program, which teaches youth critical self-rescue skills.
Volunteer Swim Lesson Assistants support the swim instruction staff by gathering supplies for classes and following along with the class. Volunteers should expect to be in and out of the water frequently and need to feel comfortable treading water and submerging. This is a great opportunity for anyone who has ever wanted to learn what it takes to be a swimming instructor and pursue a career in aquatics.
All volunteers must pass a background check and complete youth protection training before their first day. Prior teaching experience is a plus, but not required. Volunteers will not be leading classes; only providing assistance to the aquatics staff. Express interest below!
Age Minimum (with Adult): 18+, Minimum Age:18+
