Opportunity Details

Help An Older Adult With Their Grocery Shopping

Help shop for and deliver groceries to older adults throughout Westchester who are homebound during the COVID-19 crisis. Volunteers will receive a shopping list from the seniors, visit the grocery store on their behalf, shop for their items, and then deliver the groceries. Volunteers will not transport a client, and they will not enter a home. It is the client's responsibility to pay for the groceries and that can be done with cash, credit, or online payments like Venmo.

Volunteers can also sign up to take part in the Food Distribution program where they would pick up groceries from a central location and deliver them to families in need. Volunteers practice social distancing and all CDC-recommended hand-washing practices. Volunteers are needed from every town in Westchester. More details will be provided after expressing interest.

IMPORTANT:
If you think you may be sick or are feeling unwell or have been in contact with someone who may have been exposed to COVID-19, please do not sign up for this opportunity. (Feel better!)
