Volunteer Information Specialist for 211 Call Center
United Way of Westchester and Putnam is looking for Volunteer Information Specialists for its 2-1-1 call center! United Way's 2-1-1 serves as a confidential, comprehensive, and primary entry point into community service information, referral, and assistance. This 2-1-1 call center is available 24 hours per day, 7 days a week.
The Volunteer Information Specialists help answer incoming calls as well as make calls related to many of the United Way's programs, such as tax assistance services, telephone surveys, or helping clients get connected to community resources. The minimum time commitment includes 2 hours of on-site training, and then 5 hours a day for two days a week (or 3 hours a day for three days a week) to be spent on-site.
- Answer and make phone calls based on the project at hand
- Complete follow-up forms
- Gather information accurately on caller contacts
- Stay informed on programs and changes in services
