2020 Let There Be Light! Winter Outdoor Event

GARNER Art Center's "Let There Be Light" is a drive-through art and light attraction for the holiday season. Visitors will be guided through the GARNER complex on an elegantly decorated art path to enjoy illuminated window art, video projections, installations, music, and immersive light displays. There will be brief "stop points" to take a "safe selfie" with a display, too.

Volunteers are needed to assist with the event setup, production, and live event. Volunteer roles include:

  • Traffic Attendants: support GARNER staff at the event entrance and exit
  • Check-In: assist team with visitor arrival and event cue line
  • Car Guides: help keep a safe and steady flow of visitors throughout event path
  • Production Support: assist with event setup and technical aspect of attraction
All event shifts begin 90 minutes prior to event date's start time and may last until 60 minutes after the event evening ends. Volunteers will be given refreshments, a warm place for periodic breaks while on the premises, and must commit to their entire evening shift.

COVID SAFETY:
All event staff will be screened for COVID symptoms on arrival and are required to wear masks. Visitors are required to wear masks when interacting with event staff or exiting vehicles. GARNER will require that anyone feeling sick should stay home. Touchless payment and check-in methods will be utilized for guests and advance reservation-based ticket sales will be required.
