2019 YoFiFest Volunteers

YoFiFest, the Yonkers Film Festival, is celebrating its 7th anniversary from November 1 to 11. Entirely run by volunteers, YoFiFest is looking for enthusiastic, reliable, and creative people to help with everything from working the box office to promoting on social media to helping filmmakers. All volunteers receive a festival T-shirt, vouchers to screenings and workshops, staff meals and snacks.

Volunteers must:

• Be 18+ to participate in program (15+ with an adult), 21+ to work at the parties
• Attend the pre-festival orientation on October 26 in Yonkers
• Commit to a minimum of 3 shifts (averaging 4-5 hours per day; volunteers can choose shifts on weekends and weeknights)

Opportunities include:

• Social Media: spread the word about YoFiFest's films, filmmakers, parties, events, and more before and during the festival.
• Box Office/Sign In: greet the audience, manage sign in/will call/ticket sales, sell merchandise and concessions, help audience members with questions about the festival.
• Transportation: pick up and drop off as needed, run errands, etc.
• Ushers: hand out programs, help people get seated, check wristbands/tickets.
• Greeters/Hospitality: help audience and filmmakers get oriented to the festival campus, field general questions, and point them to departments that can best service them.
• Publicity
• Photography
• Videography

YoFiFest has received two “Best of Westchester” awards for "Best Film Geek Event" and "Best New Film Festival," and was once again voted one of the “Top 100 Film Festivals” by FIlmFreeway. It was also named one of the Top Ten Hippest Things about Yonkers by lohud.com and The Journal News and one of the "Top Five Things To Do" by Westchester Magazine.
