We are looking for volunteers to play various card games with our residents-- Canasta, Bridge, Gin Rummy, Poker, etc. We are flexible with hours and dates but are looking to have it at least twice a month to start, possibly once a week.
Ambassadors are needed to welcome patients and visitors to VA Hudson Valley Health Care System’s Montrose Campus.
As an Ambassador you'll provide the highest in customer service to our Veterans, their family members, and visitors. An Ambassador will greet each person with a smile, be able to assist with wheelchair transport, if needed, and at the conclusion of every contact ask, "Is there anything else I can assist you with?"
As part of the team of Ambassadors you'll be an integral part of the VA as you create and maintain a positive alliance with others.

Our Recreation Department is looking for dedicated volunteers who will work closely with our staff on their assigned neighborhoods to provide friendly room visits to residents and document the visits. Each volunteer will be assigned and trained to work on a specific neighborhood.
This volunteer opportunity would be during the week ideally and 1-3 times a week for a few hours at a time.
Program Description: Vet2Vet is led by service members & veterans for service members & veterans. Vet2Vet has no affiliation with the VA system or the Federal Government. Participation is free, anonymous and confidential. Each Vet2Vet gathering provides a place for service members & veterans to network with one another in a safe and nonjudgmental environment.
Qualifications: No restrictions on age, gender, discharge status or service dates.

Many Westchester, Rockland, and Putnam county area Veterans need a ride to their medical appointments at the VA Hudson Valley Health Care System in Montrose, New York.
Volunteer Drivers serving in VA Hudson Valley Health Care System Volunteer Trasportation Network (VTN) can literally be the difference-maker in veterans receiving needed medical care. Do you have one or more days a month that you could give as a VA volunteer driver? To fill this role, you must have a current, valid New York State drivers' license, automobile insurance, and pass a physical exam. Hours vary.

Volunteers will be matched with veterans or their family members for weekly veteran home visits for 1-3 visits per week for about 30 minutes each visit.
