VA Welcome Ambassador

VA Welcome Ambassadors are needed to welcome patients and visitors to VA Hudson Valley Health Care System’s Montrose Campus. As a VA Welcome Ambassador, volunteers will provide customer service to veterans, their family members, and visitors. Ambassadors will greet each guest with a smile, be able to assist with wheelchair transport if needed, and ask, "Is there anything else I can assist you with?" at the conclusion of each task. VA Welcome Ambassadors are an integral part of the VA in creating and maintaining a positive alliance with others.

Coffee Cart

Will provide morning smiles in the form of coffee and cookies to Veterans receiving treatment at VA Hudson Valley Health Care System's Montrose Campus. Volunteers will distribute items from the cart in the Urgent Care Area providing a moment of respite for Veterans. A small gesture like this offers Veterans a break in their morning and gives them a gentle lift. These items are delivered with lots of love and a smile by our caring volunteers. You'll be an integral part of the VA as you create and maintain a positive alliance with others. Must have strong people skills, able to fill and empty coffee pots, push a cart, and bend to reach items.

Write Thank You Cards to Support the Troops

Help United For the Troops send a little comfort to our military overseas! United For the Troops supports our troops serving overseas by sending them care packages of items they say they “miss most” while they are deployed. (Click HERE for a donation list.) Handwritten letters, cards, and pictures are always welcome and included in the care packages; they're the first thing our servicemen and women see when they open their packages, and they remind our military how thankful we are. This year we aim to send out 10,000 letters and cards! This is a great family-friendly activity. Break out the construction paper and crayons or pick up a package of thank you cards and write out a few. Cards can be mailed or dropped off; we just need them in time for our packing days. Mail thank you cards to: United For the Troops P.O. Box 242 Shrub Oak, NY 10588 Drop-off locations are listed on www.unitedforthetroops.org #remotevolunteer

Volunteers can determine their own time commitment and schedules—spend as little or as much time as you'd like!
