5K Walk to End the Violence Volunteers

Volunteers are needed to help register teams, set up, and break down for the annual Women's Resource Center 5K Walk to End the Violence. Volunteers will need to arrive at the volunteer tent at 7:30 a.m. on the day of the event to help set up. They will also need to be available for at least one evening meeting for training prior to the event. Volunteers must be able to lift and bend. The walk will be held on September 22, 2019 from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at Franklin D. Roosevelt State Park, lot #4.

Helpline Counselors

Helpline Counselors provide emotional support over the phone to callers who have been victims of various types of crimes such as sexual assault, domestic violence, physical assault, and robbery. They also provide information about Victim Assistance Services' programs and provide information and referrals about local services and agencies. Helpline volunteers commit to at least four shifts per month; these shifts occur overnight and on weekends. Spanish-speaking volunteers are encouraged to apply! Graphic Design Volunteer

A graphic design volunteer is needed to help with creating materials (flyers, posters, yard signs) for the Women's Resource Center's annual 3K Walk to End the Violence. Volunteer Drivers for Doctor Appointments and Grocery Shopping

Drivers needed to take A-HOME residents to medical appointments and grocery shopping. A-HOME properties are located throughout northern Westchester communities, in Bedford Hills, Chappaqua, Croton Falls, Katonah, Mt. Kisco, Pound Ridge, Thornwood and Vista (South Salem). Must have a valid driver's license and be 25 years or older. A-HOME is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization that acquires, develops, rehabilitates and manages affordable rental housing in northern Westchester for low-income older adults, individuals with disabilities, and single parent families.
