Seeds for Service: Harvesting and Distributing Fresh Produce
Volunteers will work at the “Seeds for Service” garden harvesting produce. They will transport the produce to the Student Center for distribution to people in need. The fresh vegetables will be displayed in a “Farmer’s Market” style produce stand that will be built by other volunteers during the event. Additionally, volunteers will be invited to participate in a healthy cooking demonstration using some of the produce and to stop at the 9-11 Memorial as they leave the WCC campus. Please park in the lot next to the Virginia Marx Children's Center. You will meet behind the Children's Center in the garden. Volunteers should wear long sleeves, long pants, and closed shoes. All tools will be provided. Please complete the WCC volunteer form provided and take it with you when you go to the garden. This is a family friendly event. If you are interested in signing up as a family, please choose Sign up with a team. Volunteers must be 16 years old or 10 with an adult to participate in this event. This project is a part of 9/11: Serve + Remember.
