WHAT: Join Us for the 8th Lower Hudson Valley "Invasive Vine Cutters SWARM!” We’re coming together to attack one big vine problem area and really make a visible difference, as well as meet one another, arrange trades of equipment and tools, share educational opportunities, and generally have a good time. This event is FREE--we just need people to register so we know how many to prepare for! WHEN: Saturday, April 15th, 10am to 3pm (Raindate April 16th) WHO: Saw Mill River Coalition partners including, Croton Vine Cutters, Bronx River Conservancy, Groundwork Hudson Valley Hastings Vine Squad, Westchester County Parks and more… *PROGRAM: 10:00 am Meet & Greet 10:15 am Begin Cutting! 12:30 pm Lunch: Swap stories. List potential "SWARM" locations. Equipment swaps. 1:30 pm Resume cutting 3:00 pm Wrap it up * All weather dependent. If it's really cold or miserable, we'll go for the rain date, Saturday, April 16th, same time and place. If it starts getting miserable when we're out there, we'll close up early. Please feel free to attend as much as you can. Some people will be coming in the morning, others may not make it until lunch and then cut in the afternoon. TO BRING: Please bring your own lunch and water. Dress in layers, wear good shoes, gloves. Bring your own tools if you can (loppers, clippers, hand saws)--we will have some available for volunteers. We'll also have hot drinks and snacks.
