Volunteer New York!'s Hunger Relief Corps has partnered with Our New Way Garden to help those in need access healthy fresh produce. Volunteers of are needed to plant, grow and harvest in the New King Street community garden, on a consistent basis. No experience required. Volunteer Team Leaders will be present to show you what to do and tools will be provided. Gardening activities may include: - Transplanting seedlings or seeding directly into the fields - Weeding, watering and harvesting crops - Mulching and composting More than 50% of the produce grown is distributed to local food pantries.
