Board Members

GiGi's Playhouse Westchester is seeking enthusiastic, motivated, and passionate community members to join its Board of Directors. Individuals who have had experience being on a board (or have experience in the following areas) are encouraged to express interest:

• Accounting or as a treasurer
• Fundraising
• Marketing
• Development and sustainability
• Education
• Business

Responsibilities:

• Mission and Management​
  • Preserve the mission of the organization
  • Select and manage staff
  • Ensure the organization is well managed, and the board has the right skills and practices to do its job
• Fundraising​
  • Raise revenue via a "give or get" of $2,000 minimum per board member
  • Share relationships and networks​
• Fiscal Responsibility
  • Budgeting and financial planning​
  • Ensure the organization is compliant with laws and regulations​
• Advocacy​
  • Represent the community to the Playhouse and vice-versa
  • Protect the Playhouse from external threats (i.e. another organization speaking poorly)​
• Engagement​
  • Provide opportunities for greater participation in the Playhouse by families, volunteers, community members, and local businesses

The time commitment for this role is a minimum of 6-8 hours per month.
