About our program
The mission of The Ronald McDonald House of the Greater Hudson Valley is to provide a temporary home-away-from-home for families with critically ill or traumatically injured children. We achieve our mission through the quality and experience of our staff and volunteers, as well as the community support we receive to sustain the House.
About the role
We have two fully equipped kitchens for our families to cook themselves a meal at any time of day. They bring their own food in and prepare their meal at the House. Often times, this is difficult for parents who are with their child in the hospital all day, so we’ve created our Meal Program.
The Meal Program is provided by local individuals, organizations and corporations who are invited to visit our House and cook a meal (serve 25 people) for our families. These volunteers offer our families a much needed and appreciated home-cooked meal when they return from a long day at their child’s bedside. The group donates the food and cooks the meal. Local restaurants can also donate meals to our families as requested.
