Child Care Volunteer

Center for Safety & Change is actively seeking volunteers to provide child care for clients who are attending support groups, meetings, or appointments.

Responsibilities include:

• Lead and supervise play activities with children, including arts and crafts, sports, music, etc.
• Assist with homework
• Role model appropriate behaviors
• Observe children’s behavior and report issues to staff
• Assist with clean-up
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications: 

• 16 years of age or older
• Prior experience working with children
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• Willing to work in an environment where children may be in distress
• Flexible and willing to work on a variety of tasks
• Creative
• Able to establish rapport and work with children of diverse ages and cultural backgrounds
• Background check required
• Required to sign a confidentiality agreement

• Emergency Shelter, Main Office, or satellite office (exact location will be predetermined with volunteer)
