Child Care Volunteer
Center for Safety & Change is actively seeking volunteers to provide child care for clients who are attending support groups, meetings, or appointments.
Responsibilities include:
- Lead and supervise play activities with children, including arts and crafts, sports, music, etc.
- Assist with homework
- Role model appropriate behaviors
- Observe children’s behavior and report issues to staff
- Assist with clean-up
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- 16 years of age or older
- Prior experience working with children
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Willing to work in an environment where children may be in distress
- Flexible and willing to work on a variety of tasks
- Creative
- Able to establish rapport and work with children of diverse ages and cultural backgrounds
- Background check required
- Required to sign a confidentiality agreement
Location:
- Emergency Shelter, Main Office, or satellite office (exact location will be predetermined with volunteer)
