Winter Drive Sorting Volunteers

The Westchester Refugee Initiative (WRI) is a network of more than 40 groups in the county that welcome refugees. Two members of the WRI—Hearts and Homes for Refugees and Neighbors for Refugees—are hosting their annual Winter Drive to provide warm coats and snow boots to refugee and asylee families in Westchester and the tri-state area. In 2019, this drive served over 450 refugees. This year, many families are facing extra hardship due to the pandemic, and help is needed more than ever.

Volunteers are needed to help receive, sort, and pack winter coats and boots that are donated to the winter drive. Each shift is about two hours and will be limited to eight volunteers each to ensure proper social distancing. Volunteers must wear a mask and practice safe social distancing. Express interest in any or all shifts below!
