Future Leaders 4 Success is looking for volunteers to join its online academic reading and mentor program for children ages 7 to 13. Volunteer mentors commit to six weeks of meeting with a group of students via Zoom, with the focus on reading to end racism. A reading list will be provided, and mentors are responsible for acquiring the books (most can be obtained from a library). Written lesson plans will also be provided for the mentors to review with students after each book. Students will receive a certificate of completion at the end of the program.
Mentors will have to complete an application and background check. Mentors should have experience working with school-age children.
