Create No-Sew Fleece Blankets for Westchester - Rockland Project Linus
Sponsored by:
Using just scissors, rulers and patterned fleece, volunteers will make no-sew blankets for children in local hospitals so they have the feeling of home and the comfort of their own blanket.
Volunteers will make a curbside pick up of No-Sew Fleece Blanket kits at the Volunteer New York! office on either:
- Tuesday, September 8th between the hours of 8:30 - 10:00 AM
- Wednesday, September, 9th between the hours of 4:30 - 6:00 PM
Volunteers are encouraged to take the kits home and make the blankets on Friday, September 11th as part of the national 9/11Day of Service. The following week, volunteers will return the completed blankets back to a curbside drop-off at the Volunteer New York! office on a specific day and time.
Each kit will include detailed instructions as well as the colorful fleece to make the no-sew blanket. One kit per a volunteer.
Volunteer New York! will take measures to reduce interpersonal contact and congregation, through methods such as: wearing masks, practicing social distancing, and sanitizing hands in between donation drop-offs. All volunteers must wear masks as they are curbside picking up or dropping off the kits . This is part of the 9/11 Serve + Remember event.
