Tutors and Academic Support Specialists

D.A.F.T. Youth Services (Dandielions Are Flowers Too) is a small nonprofit organization that aims to help middle- and high-school students from disenfranchised populations to thrive. It provides academic support, counseling, and financial literacy support to students via a social-emotional learning model.

D.A.F.T. is currently seeking a Tutor or Academic Support Specialist to help provide one-on-one services to students from grades 6-12:

Responsibilities:

• Help students learn by reviewing content in a specified subject area, explaining how to solve problems, and checking completed work
• Help students develop study skills and organization techniques to improve their academic performance. This may be completed in a one-on-one or group setting. 
• Keep and share reports on students' progress with supervisors, teachers, and parents.
• Supervising groups of students, providing discipline, and serving as a role model.
• Submitting Toggl time reports to supervisor each month.

Onboarding and training will be provided in order for volunteers to become familiar with the organization's processes, procedures, and overall culture. This is a remote learning volunteer opportunity.
