2020-2022 Young Professionals Alzheimer's Council Members

The Alzheimer's Association is looking for individuals to join its Young Professionals Alzheimer's Council (YPAC) as junior board members. The YPAC is an auxiliary board of the Alzheimer’s Association Hudson Valley Chapter, and this group consists of millennials committed to engaging their communities in the fight against Alzheimer's.

The YPAC provides opportunities for young professionals to become active members while serving their community. Group members will develop strong leadership and philanthropic skills that will serve their personal and professional lives. This group is intended for those with a personal connection to the disease, as well as those who do not have a connection but would like to learn more and contribute in the fight against it. This group can also serve as a support system for those who may have family members affected by the disease.

Members will:

  • Develop professional and leadership skills
  • Network with other passionate young professionals in the Lower Hudson Valley
  • Gain a deeper knowledge and understanding of the nonprofit sector
  • Contribute to the mission of the Alzheimer's Association
  • Have a willingness to devote individual time and effort to the improvement of YPAC events
  • Have the opportunity to learn more about dementia, Alzheimer's disease, and how to support those affected
Personal time commitment is estimated to be an average of two to three hours per month. This time will increase depending on upcoming YPAC events.
