Spanish-Speaking Volunteers for Client Registration
Student Advocacy is a non-profit legal practice that helps families whose children are struggling in school. Its advocates investigate each child's issues and negotiate for necessary school services in order to support children's education, educational justice, disability rights, and educational opportunities for children living in poverty.
Families who need service in Spanish are routed to a dedicated line, operated by volunteers, who review messages, update the client database, and conduct short, scripted interviews to obtain basic information. Student Advocacy provides all training, including information on translations for the specific terms used in its practice.
Schedule is flexible; volunteers must be fluent in Spanish.
