Provide Clothing to Children

Join volunteers at The Sharing Shelf and help provide fall clothing to children and teens. The Sharing Shelf is Westchester's Clothing Bank for Children. We collect new and gently used clothing for infants, children and teens. The clothing is sorted by volunteers first by quality then size, season and gender. Clothing is then distributed to low income children in our local community at no cost. The children we serve receive a week's worth of seasonally appropriate clothing matched into outfits according to their sizing needs. Each year, we distribute over 75,000 items to nearly 3,000 children through more than 50 schools, hospitals, nonprofits and community groups in our County. We encourage all volunteers to bring donations of new underwear to help The Sharing Shelf provide this basic necessity for children in need. Volunteers must be at least 15 years old or 10 years old with an adult to participate in this event. (Please no children/teen groups without at least two adults accompaning them.) Dress comfortably and wear comfortable shoes. You will be on your feet. We recommend locking personal items such as handbags and outerwear in your car while volunteering. Feel free to park in the main parking lot, in front of the trucks or Palette Pro garage. This project is a part of 9/11: Serve + Remember.
