Opportunity Details
Help maintain hiking trails at Teatown. Volunteers will use small hand-tools and rakes to clear trails, remove fishing line, wrap trees to protect them from beaver, remove invasive plants, report any problems on the trail. Volunteers must be at least 16 years old or 3 years old with an adult to participate in this event. Wear long pants, closed toed shoes and protective clothing for the weather (rain or sun). Bring a water bottle and small daypack if possible. Gloves and tools will be provided. Bathrooms and water are available in the Nature Center. Projects for smaller children (with adults) will be near the Nature Center. Other projects will all be within a half mile of the Nature Center. See parking attendant for directions to lower Lakeside lot off Blinn Road. Signs will lead to meeting area. This project is a part of 9/11: Serve + Remember.
