2019 #GivingTuesday Food Drive: Station Volunteers

Child participating in food drive

Youth Community Outreach Program (YCOP) is joining in on the Global Day of Giving, #GivingTuesday. This year, YCOP is challenging the community and local students to collect 5,000 non-perishable food items to be donated to the First United Methodist Church of Mount Vernon's Free Food Pantry and Community Service Association (CSA) Soup Kitchen. To help reach its goal, it will set up stations to collect food donations and sign-up pledge support at various locations throughout Westchester County on Saturday, November 16 from 8:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m.

Volunteers are needed to help man these stations. The stations will consist of one volunteer, one adult YCOP member, and at least one school-age student or volunteer. Stations will be located outside supermarkets, drug stores, and participating stores and restaurants. Drivers are also needed to help bring lunch to those volunteering at the stations.

This will be a fruitful and fun day! YCOP will also be barbequeing and serving food for the volunteers.
