Bilingual/Spanish Patient Engagement Volunteers

Open Door is the region's expert in all aspects of health, with a broad focus on building healthier communities. From prevention and wellness programs to the treatment of diseases, Open Door sees its primary mission as keeping the people of Westchester and Putnam Counties healthy and strong, regardless of their ability to pay. Nearly half of Open Door patients are uninsured or underinsured, and their primary language is Spanish.

Dedicated bilingual volunteers are needed for ongoing positions in the following areas:

  • Distribute baby essentials in the Pre-Natal Department
  • Package and distribute food at farmers markets
  • Read to children in waiting rooms
  • Wrap, sort, and distribute toys during Open Door's Santa Days program

Opportunities are available in Ossining, Sleepy Hollow, Port Chester, Mamaroneck, Brewster, and Mount Kisco.

AmeriCorps and internships (20 hours per week with stipend) are available!
