GiGi’s Playhouse Down Syndrome Achievement Center, Westchester is currently looking for an assistant volunteer program leader to join our wonderful dedicated team. Fantastic Friends: Meets on the THIRD Friday of the month at 7-9pm. Fantastic Friends (ages 18+) needs a leader (or leaders to co-lead) to help run this very popular social skills program. Fantastic Friends is a fun night out either at the Playhouse or out in the community to facilitate social interactions between adults with down syndrome, their peers and the community. The goals of the program are to promote positive relationships, to encourage peer relationships in the community, to develop social skills and ultimately to have FUN! At least a 6-month commitment is required. Volunteer Program Leader Requirements: - Must be 18+ - Attend an hour orientation (Sessions available 6.30pm-7.30pm 1st Wed of the month) - Observe two programs - Once the above requirements have been fulfilled a background check is required.
