Guest Services Volunteer

The Ronald McDonald House gives families with critically ill and traumatically injured children the gift of togetherness and keeps them close to the care and resources they need. The House has 12 bedrooms that are filled to capacity almost every night and we provide meals, laundry and respite services for our families. Located on the campus of the Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla, NY, the House is just steps away from the Maria Fareri Children’s Hospital. Since it opened in 2011, more than 1,500 families have stayed at the Ronald McDonald House of the Greater Hudson Valley.

Thanks to the generosity of our many supporters, families are provided with a low-cost, safe and comfortable home-like setting with the convenience of being steps away from their hospitalized child. Our staff and volunteers provide comfort and support to our families during the most difficult time of their lives.

Guest Services Volunteers assist staff with providing a pleasant and comfortable stay for our house guests. Activities include housekeeping, front desk coverage (check-in/check-out), working with meal program groups, clerical assistance and other tasks as needed.

We ask for a minimum of two 4-hour scheduled shifts a month and a long-term comittment. There are shifts every day of the week from 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. / 1:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. / 5:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.
