The Hearts and Homes for Refugees Winter Drive benefits local refugees living in Westchester, Connecticut, and New York City. Hearts and Homes for Refugees partners with three U.S. resettlement agencies to collect warm winter outerwear and necessities and deliver them to the families that need them. Items to be collected include winter coats and boots, children's pajamas, adult thermals, hats, gloves, scarves, and socks. New toiletries and diapers will also be distributed to families in need.
Hearts and Homes for Refugees is looking for Winter Drive Coordinators to take on a leadership role in the planning and organization of its winter donation drive. With direction from a lead coordinator, volunteers will make phone calls to community organizations participating in the drive as well as help answer questions. These roles will give the volunteers a better understanding of the organization and could potentially lead to a planning role for next year's drive.
Hearts and Homes also asks that the volunteers take at least one shift on one of the collecting and sorting dates for the Winter Drive.
