10th Annual Great Saw Mill River Clean Up: Great Hunger Memorial Park - Elmsford

Volunteers will join site supervisor and Groundwork Hudson Valley staff member, Jennifer Sloan, to conduct a garbage cleanup below the dam, along the shoreline, and in the water using kayaks at Great Hunger Memorial Park in Elmsford. Wear sturdy shoes (no flip-flops!), long pants and long sleeves to protect from ticks and poison ivy; bring gloves if you have them and carry water to stay hydrated. We'll have equipment, trash bags, and a limited supply of gloves.

Volunteers must be 18+ to be in the water on a vessel, unless you bring your own.

Directions: This site is along the South County Trailway and is located off of the Saw Mill River Parkway going north. Take exit 19 (Great Hunger Memorial at VE Macy Park sign) just North of the Ardsley/Dobbs Ferry exit. The site is only accessible while traveling northbound on the Saw Mill River Parkway.
