Volunteer for Greenburgh Community Emergency Response Team
Become an active member of the community by joining Greenburgh Community Emergency Response Team (CERT). Under the supervision of the Greenburgh Police, the Greenburgh CERT is an all-volunteer squad of locals that serve as backup manpower to the community's first responders.
All volunteers receive essential training on the fundamentals, including basic first aid, CPR, triage, search and rescue, fire safety, and emergency preparedness. Greenburgh CERT members meet monthly to be updated and retrained. The team is activated only by the police chief and on purely volunteer basis to run emergency shelters, warming centers, assist with traffic control at local community events, and provide other logistical support to local first responders as needed. The training and information volunteers take home can be invaluable to make their homes and families safer.
Pre-registration is required.
