YWCA Children’s Center at the Courthouse Needs Volunteers
Help the YWCA of White Plains & Central Westchester provide a safe and loving environment for children while their caregivers are involved with issues at the courthouse in New Rochelle or White Plains. Volunteers will assist fulltime childcare center staff to engage children up to age 12 in arts/crafts and educational activities.
Hours of operation are Monday–Friday, 9am to 5pm. Volunteers are asked to work a minimum of two hours a week.
Skills: Ability to accept and engage with children who have a variety of behaviors and needs; willing to work as a team and commit to a schedule, but with flexibility.
Spanish speaking is a plus, but not a must.
A criminal background check is required.
Immediate Need: Needs in New Rochelle are flexible. White Plains Courthouse needs volunteers for Monday and Friday 2:30pm-5 pm – and other slots available!
Applying: After an on-site informational interview with the Children’s Center Director in White Plains, interested candidates will be invited to begin the formal process of becoming a YWCA volunteer.
